Candeo Colors - Winter 2012 Swatches and Review

I was recently contacted by Candeo Colors to review some colours in the Winter 2012 collection. I was super excited to do this, Candeo Colors makes some insanely gorgeous polishes!

Smores, a white base with a mixture of small and medium brown hex glitter, black squares, large white hex glitter and small gold holo glitter. This is such a gorgeous combo of glitter, it definitely screams Smores to me. I used 1 coat over a nude base and it covered beautifully, I had no problems with the glitter in this polish. I think this polish would look amazing over just about any color.

Snowbird, a clear base with a mixture of matte blue hexes in various sizes, small holo lime glitter, and small and medium gold holo hex glitter. I used 1 coat over a light blue base (so the colors popped), and I think it looks gorgeous.

Fallen, a clear base with a mix of small silver holo glitter, small and large white hex glitter and gorgeous iridescent hex glitters. This was inspired by the look of freshly fallen snow, and I think it perfectly captures that. I used 1 coat over a deep blue base. Again, this could be used over any color base and it would look stunning.

Sweet Sierra, a clear base with matte purple hex and square glitter, small metallic purple hex glitter, small silver holo hex glitter, medium pink hex glitter, and small iridescent hex glitters. Purple for Winter? I love it! I used 1 coat over a light purple base, which I think captures the color of the glitters perfectly.

I'm really pleased with this collection, they are all so unique and different compared to the typical Winter collections around. The formula on all of them were perfect, and I had no problems with the glitter distribution.
If I had to choose a favorite out of these it would have to be Smores and Sweet Sierra, but they are all stunning.

Candeo Colors polishes are all 3 free, and available for $9 a bottle USD.

Leopard Print Presents!

Hey lovelies!
Today I have my post for Week 2 of Nail Polish Canada's Holiday Nail Art Challenge. This week is all about gifts or presents, so I went with a leopard print present theme (since all I asked for for Christmas is leopard print stuff lol).

I like the way it turned out, and I love the Christmas themed leopard print.

I Love Nail Polish - Swatches and Review

I'm sure you've all heard of the gorgeous nail polish by I Love Nail Polish (especially with her amazing Black Friday deal). I was recently in contact with her and was given the opportunity to review some of her products.
First off I would like to say that these shipped super fast, even with me living in Canada, I don't think I've ever had a package from the states reach me that fast. These polishes even come in a cute little box, which I absolutely love!

Matthew Peri, a clear base with periwinkle, silver, and navy blue glitter, as well as some holo looking glitter. This applied pretty smoothly, it was kind of sticky and thick but still easy enough to work with. I only used one coat for this. I need to add that the name of this polish is so clever, I love it.

Fully Turqued, a clear base with white and black bar glitter, white and black glitter of various sizes, and turquoise square glitter. This applied really well, I had no problems at all.. all the glitter came out perfectly. This is definitely my favorite, I love black and white glitter and the turquoise just makes it even more amazing.

Her Highness, a clear base with pink, brown, and gold glitters of various sizes. Again, I had no problems with the application of this, all the glitters came out perfectly. I only used 1 coat for this one.

Blow Pop, a clear base with pink, purple, and blue glitters. The application was great, I only used 1 coat and the glitter came out nice and smooth. I also really liked this combo of glitters, I think it would work so well over just about any base color.

Overall I really enjoyed these polishes, they applied very nicely and the glitter combo's were just gorgeous.
Now I only had one problem with these polishes, and that was that the smell was pretty strong. I wasn't used to such a strong smelling polish, but it's still tolerable.

If you haven't already you need to get your hands on these polishes, they were created by such a sweet girl.

You can buy these polishes, and many more on her Etsy Shop: I Love Nail Polish

Snowflakes galore!

I don't know if you all have heard but Nail Polish Canada is having a Holiday Nail Art Challenge, and of course I had to join in!
For week 1 the theme is snow, so anything that is snow related! I tried a few designs out, but they weren't snow inspired, so I decided to do snowflakes using some gorgeous polishes.

For this I used: Color Club (I don't know the name), OPI DS - Radiance and I Love Nail Polish - Matthew Periwinkle.

These were so much fun to do, and I love the way they turned out with the gorgeous glitter from I Love Nail Polish.

Pretty and Polished - Jawbreaker

Today I'm showing you a swatch of Pretty and Polished - Jawbreaker. I'm sure we've all seen this a million times, and we have all fallen in love with Pretty and Polished's gorgeous polishes.. so here it is!

Jawbreaker - An off white base with blue micro glitter, blue hex glitter, red square glitter, blue square glitter, yellow square glitter, and some blue bar glitter. This polish covers perfectly in 2 coats, and the formula is pretty good. I had a hard time getting some of the glitter out to show, so I set my bottle upside down for a few minutes to make it easier.

Don't you just love it?
I have had this for awhile, but decided I needed a better swatch because my old one didn't do it justice.
I have a few more mini's by P&P to try out, so look for those soon!

China Glaze - Glistening Snow & Angel Wings

I have been wanting to get my hands on these since I saw some swatches earlier this month, thankfully I grabbed the last set at Winners the other day. These came in a set with both polishes and a cute little shot glass for $10.

First up is Glistening Snow, a silver holographic polish. This easily covers in 2 coats, and the consistency was great.

Angel Wings, a gold holographic polish. Again, it covered easily in 2 coats and the consistency was good.

Overall I loved both of these polishes, but who doesn't love a gorgeous holo?

I'm An Artist

I recently showed you all some nail mail I got for Halloween from a secret swap I took part of on Elfster. My nail mail included this gorgeous polish made from Laura "brummingbird".

This is I'm An Artist over China Glaze - Secret Peri-Winkle. This polish is a clear base with black and white bar glitter, and small hexes.

I love this polish, I didn't own a black and white glitter polish yet so I was super excited to get this. The only problem was that this polish leaked during shipping, which caused the glitter to be a bit clumpy and I had a hard time getting the bottle open.

Are you all still loving the black and white glitter trend?

Color Club - Winter Affair Collection

Hey everyone!
As everyone knows I am obsessed with Color Club polishes, and last week I ended up finding the Winter Affair Collection. There are 2 versions of this collection, one from Sally's Beauty (scented) and then the one I have which is sold everywhere else.
Lets get right to it!

All of the polishes will also have a swatch of Snow-Flakes over them.
Snow-Flakes - A flakie top coat that's a dupe for Nubar 2010, and countless other flakie polishes.

Berry And Bright. A pink toned red foily shimmer. I'm usually not a huge fan of reds but this one is stunning! I only needed 2 coats for full coverage, but I'm sure I could have got away with just one coat. This polish screams Christmas to me, and I love that.

Glitter Wonderland. A purple shimmer foil with blue and fuchsia microglitter throughout. This polish is breathtaking, I'm obsessed (but I love anything purple)! I used 2 coats for full coverage.

Ho-Ho-Holly. A green foil with a ton of gold shimmer throughout. This color is very unique, and I love that I don't have anything really like it. I needed 2 coats again for full coverage. This isn't really a typical green for Christmas, which makes me like it even more lol.

Winter Affair. A wine colored polish, somewhere between a red and a purple, maybe berry? There's also a ton of different sparkles in this polish. I only needed 2 coats for full coverage. This polish was very hard to photograph.

Gift Of Sparkle. A purple glitter with microglitter that's silver and holographic. I needed 2 coats for full coverage. I could just stare at this for hours, especially once I put Snow-Flakes on it.

This Collection is a definite winner for me, I love them all, especially Gift Of Sparkle. I'm glad I found this set , if you don't have this you need to find it.. they are all so pretty, and the formula is great (as usual).
I found the set at my local Winners for $14.95

Wet and Wild - Spontaneous Combustion

Hey lovelies!
I don't usually buy Wet and Wild polishes, I never really see them except for the display at Walmart which never changes, but my boyfriend bought me this one and I love it.
Spontaneous Combustion is a clear base with lots of different glitter, dark blue, light blue, gold, and green.
I swatched it over Color Club - Take Me To Your Chateau

Julep Swatches: My First Maven Box

I showed you my haul the other day which included my very first Julep Maven box, so today I have swatches of the polishes for you!
I got 5 polishes in my first Maven box by using a promo code, and it only cost me $10.

First up is Emma - A sheer nude with shimmer. I needed 3 coats for this, and it didn't cover fully. This polish would probably be used best over another color.

Sasha - A cream coral. I only needed 2 coats for this and the coverage was great, I probably could have got away with 1 coat but I used 2 just to be safe.

Claire - A cream blue, a light blue that's also very vibrant. I used 2 coats for this, and the coverage was good. I love this color, it's such a gorgeous shade of blue.

Rose - A cream red with a pink tint to it. Again, 2 coats for full coverage. Not my favorite, but it's still a pretty color.

Chelsea - A glitter that's mainly purple, with gold, silver, and multi-colored glitter throughout. I used 2 coats for full coverage. This was definitely my favorite, you can wear it on it's own or over a color. So pretty.
First swatch is of 1 coat, second is 2 coats.

I really loved these, and you can't beat that amazing price for 5 polishes (especially since at work I think we sell them for over $15?).

Thanks for reading, I will be showing you more swatches from my haul soon!
